Zoot Suit Riot

AN EXCITING BIG BAND PARTY

In 1943, for ten days a series Zoot Suit Riots broke out in Los Angeles.  This is a show that captures the big band music, dancing and singing that was inspired by the World War II era. The Zoot suits, with their yard-long key chains, high-wastes, wide lapels, wide legs, tight cuffs, and glistening shoes, were not merely articles of clothing or a style of dress, it established a precedent to be be cool in America.  Featuring such songs like “Zoot Suit Riot,” and “Hey Pachuco.”
